Obituary of Arthur Grego

Arthur "Artie" Grego, Jr., age 61 of Monroe, peacefully passed away at his home on Friday, July 14, 2017 surrounded by his wife and children after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Artie was born on June 4, 1956 in Wyandotte, Michigan. He was the son of Arthur Grego and Frances (Carron) Grego.

Artie enjoyed working as a Realtor for Century 21 Allstar Real Estate Team for 16 years. In those years, he made many great contributions to his company and was honored and celebrated for many amazing accomplishments such as: Century 21 Allstar Realtor of the year 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013. Century 21 Diamond Award 2008, 2009, Ruby Award 2009, 2016, Emerald Award 2014, Centurion Award 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013.Artie enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, spending time with family and friends and sitting around bonfires listening to classic rock. He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He was known for his kindness, compassion and sense of humor. He was an active member of Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe, and was baptized in February 2016.

Artie leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, of 29 years, Allison (Gilbert) Grego; his three children, Angeleena (Matthew) Slaman of Toledo, OH, Arthur Grego of Monroe, and Ashley Grego of Monroe; two sisters, Karen (Don) Daily of Las Vegas, NV, and Deborah (Lee) Bunge of LaSalle; one brot her, Donald Grego of LaSalle; two granddaughters, Quinn and Henley and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Frances, who died shortly after giving birth to him, his father Arthur, and his brother Gregory.

In accordance with Artie's wishes, cremation will take place under the direction of Merkle Funeral Service

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday July 21, 2017 at Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church, 225 W. Hurd Road, Monroe Michigan. Visitation will be from 1-4:00pm, with a Celebration of Life at 4:00pm. Artie' s wishes were that in lieu of flowers all donations be made to his church, Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church. It was important for him to give back to his church because of all they have done for him and his family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe (734) 241-7070.
