David Prylo

Obituary of David Anthony Prylo

David Anthony Prylo was born October 19, 1958, in Highland Park, Michigan.  He was the second of three children born from the union of the late Thaddeus Prylo and the late Theresa (Attard) Prylo.  David was a 1976 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and married the love of his life, Rosalind Bader, on October 1, 1988.  Together, they would raise three beautiful children.

David prided himself on being a hard worker and supporting his family as the Safety Coordinator at United States Steel Corporation for thirty-nine years. As an active member of the United Steel Workers Union Local 1299, he fought for the safety and rights of his fellow co-workers.  David earned recognition and awards for his skills, training, and leadership.  He continued to work, only retiring in 2017 due to declining health.

David was a strong and dedicated man that liked to take charge.  He strove to be the rock of the family. He was incredibly proud of raising his children to become successful adults. He enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.

As a lifelong advocate for having an active lifestyle, he enjoyed physical activities such as playing hockey, running, and weight lifting.  He volunteered his time in youth sports for the Monroe Area Soccer Association and St. Mary’s Catholic Central youth wrestling. He used his creative talents to remodel his home and work on cars.

In his quiet time, David could be found fishing, watching his favorite Detroit team on television, or channel surfing snuggled up with his feline companion, “Chase.”

David Anthony Prylo, age 58, of Monroe passed away peacefully on May 31, 2017 in his home with his loving family.   His passing was preceded by his parents.
