Obituary of Frank "Frankie" John Zieger III

Frank John Zieger III was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 23, 1975.   He was the oldest child born to Frank John Zieger Jr. and was raised by his stepmother Vickie Gandara-Zieger.   Frankie attended Madill High School in Madill, Oklahoma graduating with the Class of 1993.   The next year the Zieger family moved to Michigan.

Frank was full of life, and was generous and thoughtful to those around him.   He was more than willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.   Frankie attended Monroe County Community College, and for several years was employed as a medical assistant at the River Raisin Clinic.   He had also worked as a bartender; but his true passion was in entertaining others.

With enough charisma to fill any room, Frank was always the life of the party, and the center of attention.   Dinner with family was more than a little interesting, since he was a natural trickster.   For more than twenty years he would use his gifts as a comedian and actor, performing in numerous commercials and films.  It is here that Frank was most at home.

Earlier this year, Frankie had an affirmation of faith and was baptized at the Salvation Army in Flint.

Frankie, age 41, of Flint passed away at Hurley Medical Center on Monday, May 8, 2017, after fulfilling his last wishes of organ donation to the Gift of Life.

To cherish his memory, Frankie leaves his parents: Frank Zieger Jr. and Vickie Gandara-Zieger of Temperance; maternal grandparents:  Frankie and Sam Zarzour of Maple Heights, Ohio; three children:  Lillian Arizona Zieger, Annie Tiger-Mae  Zieger and Jeremiah Ocean Zieger and their mother Jennifer Zieger; two brothers: Jeremiah (Jennifer) Zieger of Pasadena, Maryland and Fernando (Kayli) Gandara of Detroit; one sister: Mandie (Lee) Cline of San Leandro, California; uncles and aunts:  Gary  and Pam Zieger of Indianapolis, Indiana, Suanne and Bill Wilson of Livingston, Texas, and Lori and David Dowiak of Frederick, Maryland.

The Zieger family will receive friends on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway (734) 241-7070.   They encourage those in attendance to wear fun colors and to bring a story of Frankie to share.   Services celebrating his life will begin at 5:00pm and Father Bruce Campbell will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Salvation Army of Flint or to a trust that has been established for his children.   Online guests may leave words of inspiration and comfort or share a photo by visiting www.merklefs.com.
