Obituary of Dorothy E. Kerekes

Dorothy E. Kerekes, 87 of Monroe, Michigan, formerly of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017. She was born on May 24, 1929 in Dallas Pike-Tridelphia, West Virginia to Wishart and Lucy Geho Supler who preceded her in death. On May 29, 1954 she married Elmer A. Kerekes who passed away on March 19, 2006. She went to Triadelphia High School in West Virginia. Mrs. Kerekes was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg. She lived in Canonsburg most of her life. She worked at G.C. Murphy in Wheeling, Bobby Brooks in Washington, A & P in Elm Grove and the Alexander Co-op in Strabane, Cannon Pharmacy and Rite-Aid in Canonsburg at various times in her life. She was family-oriented and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Surviving are three sons, David A. Kerekes (Shelly) of Jackson, Michigan, Roger A. Kerekes, of New Albany, Ohio, Ronald A. Kerekes (Lauren) of Westerville, Ohio, two daughters, Mary A. Jolley (Gene) of Monroe, Michigan, Shirl A. Lyle (Ron) of Canonsburg, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Galen Supler and three sisters, Eleanor Smila, Gertrude Archer, and Shirley Archer. Friends are welcome from 10 a.m. until 12:30 pm. , the time of the Blessing Service on Saturday, March 4, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
