Obituary of Yvonne Marie Lambert

Yvonne Marie Wood was born on December 1, 1937 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of eight children born from the union of Roscoe “Kemp” and Rosella (Fix) Wood. Yvonne attended Monroe Public Schools. Yvonne married Erby Lambert and the couple would be blessed with the birth of four children. She worked hard from home, supporting her family by caring for their children and following through with their education. She loved her family, cherishing every moment during times spent together. Yvonne enjoyed going for joy rides with her daughters and granddaughter on a regular basis, often stopping for coffee. She spent a better part of her free time working crossword puzzles and playing Aggravation. Yvonne Marie Lambert, age 79 of Monroe, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 12, 2017 while her loving family was at her side. Only a short while later, Yvonne’s daughter: Pauline Massengill, age 61, of Harrogate, Tennessee also went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 2:20am. She was the wife of Edward Massengill and the loving mother of Wanda, Steven and Victoria. In addition to Yvonne’s passing, she was preceded by brothers: Ben Wood Sr. and Charles Wood; sister-in-law: Norma Wood; and brothers-in-law: Jim Martin, Jimmie Emery and Harold Klatt. To cherish Yvonne’s memory, she leaves her children: Rose (Paolo) Vitale, Jackie Lambert and Michael(Becky) Lambert all of Monroe; brother: Fred(Laura Ann) Wood of Monroe; sisters: Jeanette Klatt of Deerfield, Karen Martin of Florida, Paulette Emery of Toledo and Rita(Scott) Larrow of Carleton; sister-in-law: Carol Wood of Temperance; she was blessed with ten grandchildren: Maria Vitale of Florida, Procopio Vitale of Monroe, Rosalia(Dominic) Russo of Monroe, Francesca Vitale of Maryland, Steve Noel of Dundee, Wanda Herbert of Tennessee, Steven Miller of Monroe, Victoria Massengill of Tennessee, Michael Lambert of Monroe, Diana(Jamie) Jarvis of Monroe and Cpl. Zachary Lambert (USMC) of North Carolina; ten little loves of her life, great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may gather on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 10:30am to 1:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe, 2442 N. Monroe Street, Monroe (734)384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 1:00pm with Pastor Wayne Killion of Calvary Baptist Church, Milan officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for entombment.
