Life Story of William Seth

William H. Seth passed away Tuesday, October 25th, 2016, at his home in the loving arms of his wife, Mary Gessler-Seth. He was born November 1st, 1949 to the late Alvin and LaVon Seth. Bill was employed with General Mills for 33 years in many different jobs at the facility. Bill was a member of the National Guard from 1970-1976. In his youth, Bill was an avid water skier and his specialty was barefoot skiing. He spent most of his summers at Lake Wilson where his parents built their summer home. Bill enjoyed scuba diving, tennis and most of all his photography, specializing in Nature and Wildlife. Bill had a knack for design. He designed our home and all the landscaping. He took pride in his yard and enjoyed spending time outside. In 2009, Wings Paws & Prayers came to fruition and our nonprofit was started for the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured and orphaned wildlife. Bill designed all the animal enclosures and was the Vice President of the organization. Since 2009, Wings Paws & Prayers has rehabbed over 500 animals, most of them Birds of Prey. Bill photographed the birds and sold many prints. The sanctuary was where Bill found his joy and would stop and talk to strangers about what we did for wildlife. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Mary and his 4 children, Jodi (Angela), Matt, Daniel and Rachel (Scott), brother Bob (Bobbie) of Colorado. Bill is also survived by 3 very special children that he loved and adored, Jose, Oscar and Julian Sanchez. They touched his life in so many ways! He was “Papa” to two beautiful girls, Shelby Seth and Willow Solomon. Bill is preceded in his death by his sister, Carol Franks. Arrangements were entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, Erie, 9156 Summit Street Erie, Michigan (734)848-5185.
