Karla Ann Hearn January 3, 1941 – August 11, 2016 Karla Ann Kemritz was born January 3, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio. She was one of two children born from the union of the late Raymond Kemritz and the late Roberta (Dumont) Kemritz. Karla attended Monroe Schools and completed her diploma from Erie Mason High School in 1986. Karla married the love of her life, Duane Hearn December 4, 1965. From this union would come three beautiful children along with two more girls they raised as their own. Karla received her spiritual nourishment as a member of LaSalle Presbyterian Church. Karla was resilient and with her determination accomplished many life adventures. Her kind spirt never turned anyone in need away and was a member of Angels Touch. Family was most important to Karla and loved them all very much, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She looked forward to the many vacations in Northern Michigan, enjoyed playing golf, but was passionate about fishing. Although she did not spend time in the vegetable garden, she enjoyed canning and making soup from its plenty. In her quiet time, Karla could be found crocheting, crafting, playing games on her iPad or socializing on Facebook. Karla Ann Hearn, age 75, of Monroe passed away at 9:59am on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by her son, Robert Miles Hearn and her brother, Lee Kemritz. To cherish her memory she leaves her husband of fifty-one years, Duane; two children: Robin (David) Fox of LaSalle and Kelli (Scott) Collingsworth of Monroe; Mandi (Frank) Woodward who is like a daughter; twelve grandchildren: David D., Shawna L., Robert Jr., Brooke, Molly, Ryan, Matthew, Mallory, Zoey, Logan Renee, Alaina, Andrea; and four great grandchildren: Alexcia, Violet, Emery and Olivia; many nieces and nephews; and her canine companion, “Rex.” Friends may gather from 11:00am until a Celebration of Her Life at 1:00pm on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Merkle Funeral Service, 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe (734)241-7070 where Pastor Roy Southerland of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate.
