Ronald Dale Fondaw was born on February 25, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. He was one of four sons born
from the union of the late Paul Fondaw and the late Estelle (Richardson) Fondaw. He attended
Belleville High School graduating with the Class of 1962. Ronald honorably served his county by joining
the United States Army enlisting on April 27, 1965. He obtained the rank of E-4 and earned a National
Defense Service Medal before his honorable discharge on February 20, 1967.
Ronald married the love of his life, the former Judith Baisch on November 4, 1981. He was a hard
worker and provided for the needs of his family with employment at Ford Motor Company. He would
spend thirty years at the Plymouth plant working as a heating and cooling repairman. Ronald would
retire in 1994 at the age of 50.
He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisher. Ronald was a member of the Monroe Rifle
and Pistol Club. As a young man he often participated in Bass Fishing Tournaments.
He enjoyed a simple life and was often known to be quiet. An excellent listener he could be counted on
to lend an ear to those in need. Ronald enjoyed taking casino trips, watching football and spending
time with his favorite four-legged companion dog: Squeaky.
Ronald Dale Fondaw, age 73 of Carleton passed away at 7:38pm on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at
Ebeid Hospice Facility in Sylvania, Ohio. His passing was preceded by his parents.
To cherish his memory, Ronald leaves his beloved wife of nearly thirty-six years: Judy of Carleton; his
daughter: Tracey (Ken) Grooms of Lambertville; his three brothers: Kenneth Fondaw of Belleville, Terry
Fondaw of Ypsilanti, and Jimmy Piper of California; and one granddaughter: Mindy Grooms of Carleton.
In accordance with his wishes, a private burial has taken place at Roselawn Memorial Park is LaSalle.
